For my bachelor’s project, I created a large Virtual Reality project called Petrified Souls with Unreal Engine. Together with Matt Flanc from PXL Music, where he composes the music with 360° sound – we made this project come to life. This project was shown at the Vuurdoop event in Hasselt 2024 and at the VMX event in Antwerp 2024.
The story visualizes what it’s like to live in a world where everything is slowly being taken over by digital media and technology. As all kinds of stimuli protrude our mind, thinking for ourselves becomes increasingly difficult. We fail to realize how much we are influenced by this new world. And so we petrify, hoping that eventually we might find our way back to our origin.
