PaintingVR
PaintingVR is Oisoi Studio’s best-known title, where players can create paintings in virtual reality. During development, I contributed to several UX improvements and designed new menus that expanded the creative tools available to players. As these were some of the first systems I worked on extensively, the project taught me how important clear layouts, discoverability, and visual hierarchy are within VR interfaces.

Stencil menu
One of the most requested features from the PaintingVR community was the ability to use stencils. My role was to design a compact menu that could comfortably fit beside the canvas while still supporting a wide range of editing tools. To maximize the available space, I relied on recognizable icons, inspired by creative software, together with sliders for adjustments such as scale and threshold. Clear visual feedback, including an orange selection border and paintability controls, helped players quickly understand which stencil was active and how it interacted with the canvas.
Browser menu
The browser menu was redesigned to make it more interactive and easier to navigate. I introduced tabs along the top bar, allowing players to switch between browsing content and accessing the studio’s social media without leaving the interface.
reflection
Working on PaintingVR taught me how important usability and clear visual communication are within VR interfaces. Designing menus that remain intuitive while supporting a wide range of creative tools strengthened both my UX thinking and the way I approach complex interfaces. Seeing new features reach players and improve their creative experience has been one of the most rewarding parts of working on the project.
